In January, we travelled to Pakistan to hunt the elusive Himalayan Ibex

Of course a proper hunting trip starts at Frankfurt airport !

Laurent & I, after landing in Islamabad, were met by our local guide Kaiser Khan
Laurent’s suitcase never arrived, so we left to the hunting zone with half our bullets (we always split them between ourselves) and my spare clothes to share (we always travel with a full set of hunting clothes on us, hunting boots included !)

We set off to our hunting zone : two gruelling days following the Karakoram highway escorted by the friendly regional police.

Finally, we arrived at the village of Kanday in Northern Pakistan

Our home at over 3100m altitude for the next few days

The first day of hunting was intense !!

And Laurent managed to get this great Ibex !

The next days we both concentrated on finding one for me (-15 to -20°c)

I missed a good Ibex at over 500 m
And after a very hairy return to camp

Supper with Kaiser awaited us !

The next day was even more intense

As good Belgians, on a very small ledge facing a 200m drop we decided to share what we believed could be our last chocolate together …

I shot 3 times at over 600m towards an Ibex, although he trips during his escape, we all believed that I had missed.

We leave the next day for home, passing some interesting towns

With our friend Kaiser

Of course, a final picture at Istanbul airport, after an incredible trip ! (I didn’t know there was “Halal” candy)

On my return to Belgium, Kaiser informs me that they have found my Ibex (Wounded by two of my bullets and finally killed by the local military)

What a trip !!!!!!!
